Quite mundane and rather pointless.

Yesterday I installed a CD-RW drive for the first time. In the past I have always been a bit worried about installing stuff incase I made a mistake which I could not fix.

Well, Brynda and I went shopping on Saturday for a CD burner and found a fairly inexpensiveone. The guy at the store told us what to do to install it and that it would have instructions with it. So I took the plunge.

We already have a DVD player (which we hardly use). Reading the instructions, it sounded like the CDRW needed to be the secondary master (though I doubt it matters) so I moved the DVD player and installed the CDRW. I have since tested it and everything works

I am just so pleased.

Thank you, you may now go about your business.

Rick

Good for you. In the past I’ve done little minor upgrades like memory and installing a CD/RW. I’m taking the plunge soon and building my own computer. In a few weeks I’ll begin ordering my components. Wish me luck.

I haven’t installed a new drive in a computer since I upgraded to windows from a dos system back in 1996.

A friend gave me an old Que! drive that I tried to install on Windows 95. Even had special Windows software & all that. Yeah. Nightmare & a half. Never did get the damn thing to work.
