Quitting Smoking Triggering Lung Cancer?

It’s not that unusual in my pathology practice.

Last week I diagnosed a case of squamous cell carcinoma of the lung in a 35-year-old. He’d smoked heavily since his mid-teens.

Must have been the Bad Virus. :dubious:

Is that why? Because it *smelled *nice? Like Glade Lasting Impressions Fragrancer? :dubious: Hmm…doesn’t come in burnt tobacco scent. I wonder why. Could be what smells good is subjective, maybe, but by and large, tobacco smoke isn’t considered all that desirable of a scent?

I am a former smoker myself but I do mind the smell of tobacco. It smells gross, it irritates my nasal passages, and make my eyes water. Cheap tobacco smells even worse. All tobacco smells even nastier than cheap tobacco when it’s stale and sticking to sweaty people. Blech!

It is definitely subjective, but there are other factors as well. Personally, I find the smell of cigarette smoke pretty nasty. There are some pipe tobaccos, on the other hand, that are very pleasant.
