A few days ago, I posted a comment about a puzzle where each word gave me info I needed for the next word. Tonight was rather the opposite; the last two words didn’t share anything. I had enough info to make correct guesses on both.
After SLIMY, SLICE was a gimme.
Thanks, but it was just luck, first word that popped to mind.

Very odd game tonight. I didn’t have much info after the first three guesses. I tried FAUNA first; couldn’t think of anything else that fit, and one of the other words looked like it might be FERRY, so I thought the F in first position might be helpful.
Then I had ____Y, with an E and R. Could have been BERRY, but I thought PERKY would provide more info.
Thave gave me the P and K I needed for SPIKE.
Then I figured the last word was probably LEVEL, but I had two guesses to burn so I tried BEVEL first.
All of the guesses worked.
