So I had Birth, Girth, and Mirth…had to go with BIRTH first.
I was noticing that…it’s coin-toss city with this game! And it does seem I get it wrong more than right too. It just makes it more exciting when you finally get one right.
I had no letter hits for the second word, so in went Choir, which I usually play 2nd, and I was able to solve the next two with that, thankfully. I had Douse and Dense for the last word, but then realized the O wasn’t valid. Phew.
Tatty is some bullshit. I only discovered it was a valid answer after typing it in and it didn’t go red. Same for taggy and tammy, which are themselves also bullshit. So I broke my rules and switched to the other words just to try and figure them out for fun. Super lame.
I saw lamer first, but then quickly lager and really felt like that was going to be the answer. Ignoring that instinct I stuck with the first thing I saw. C’est la vie.
I was off to a great start until…dun dun dunnn…the evil dreaded trap. After Fatty didn’t hit, I was thinking…wth is it? Then I realized oh, Tatty? Sheesh.
@chiliwillybing I didn’t play Sequence today…looks like I picked a good day to skip. I’ll be back at it tomorrow.
I had a another busy evening and I barely made it in enough time to finish Wordle and Quordle, but unfortunately not enough time for Sequence. Looks like I dodged another bullet - lol.
Congrats Chili for your 3456 on Quordle!
Not my best effort for today’s Quordle. Being in a hurry, I made a mistake with playing Drool…the D was already showing not valid. And I’m not sure how I didn’t see Godly…Goldy was what I saw first - I named a squirrel that who used to come by daily for about 5 years, and I just went for it thinking no way that’ll be the word but I gotta get something down quick.
I’m starting to get scornful of these fetid answers. After lamer I had positively identified _ALER, but couldn’t see a single word to fit that. So I typed in every possible opening letter to see which ones didn’t turn red. Those were waler (a breed of horse in Australia), haler (unit of currency in the Czech Republic), and baler, like a hay baler. I thought hay baler was spelled with an I, but apparently not. Since I’ve heard of a hay baler I went with lucky B. But just 2 days removed from tatty, I was pretty damn pissed to be once again reduced to typing in all combinations fishing for valid words. The only reason I like these games is because the answers are common words. I am rapidly losing interest in quordle because of how uncommon the answer words can be.
Then to add insult to injury, I got burned by not trying my former favorite letter C. Scornful indeed.
RAISE
COUNT
SCORN - 3
BAKER
BALER - 5
PASTE - 6
FETID - 7
I tried baker in attempt to narrow down _aste and luckily the B hit. I live in the country so hay bales and balers are very familiar to me.
Tatty is uncommon nowadays, but I’ve read and heard it being used, probably almost as much as fetid
I got a little thrown off by going with a different start word and not putting in a second one because I saw I could solve Scorn. Took me a lot longer than I would have liked to finish this one. Got lucky with Pause…was just trying to get two vowels in there, plus another common letter. I then saw the possible _A_ER trap for the #1 word. Should have gone with Baker first…almost did. Baler wasn’t on my radar…I am familiar with them though.
And then I was stuck for the last word to solve…only had the T and E in yellow, and I could not see a word out of what was left. I started just writing down various words (most of which were not words - lol), but I also had Demit, Fetid, and Teddy…the latter being what I felt was more likely, or at least most common (Teddy Bear or Teddy as in Camisole), but if wrong it wouldn’t tell which of the two others it was, that is if I wasn’t missing any other words, so I just went with Demit first.
@EllisDee I agree about the uncommon or obscure words. We’re used to Wordle’s removal of various types of words, but with this game almost anything goes. Unless it happens far too regularly, I won’t want to stop playing, but it is a tad frustrating when they do show up.
I struggled seeing a word for the first one…forgot about UN words. I saw Vigor before I saw Rigor and was sure that was it. Nope. So another 9 for today.
Double deja vu today. First elbow on the same day Wordle’s answer is [redacted], and then revue again. Though that may have been from sequence, not quordle.
