Yeah, not a fan either. Today’s was a doozy, but you came up with a really great sleuth word (I’ll have to remember that one!).

Mucky would have annoyed me if it hadn’t followed quoth, making mucky seem as common a word as hello. Quoth?! Seriously?

I had visions of a 3456 until it became clear that the last word was a toss-up amongst apple, ample and maple. Nothing to do but guess, and any of the three would positively identify the answer.

I agree both mucky and quoth are silly words, but at least they were easy enough to solve. I’d would have been pissed if I had to try two or three different guesses and the answer ended up being quoth

Be honest, it took the edge off mucky, didn’t it? All of a sudden doesn’t seem like such a bullshit word when you compare it to quoth! lol.
Lol, yeah a bit. I do use the word mucky sometimes, but usually say “mud and muck”, but I was pretty irritated at Quoth, which I’m not familiar with…looked it up only to find it’s a really archaic word, so yeah…didn’t pass much of a thought towards mucky.
Oh my, sorry about that, hope I didn’t jinx you
I’ve mucked out a lot of stalls in my day, but I don’t think I’ve ever used or heard anyone else say mucky.

For today’s Wordle I saw chest first but it had already been an answer, then quest after never seeing guest. Didn’t see guest here either until seeing the results of quest.
I never saw it either with wordle, if I had I probably would have tried that first.

I almost went with Bread at 3, which would have resulted in getting a 2456, but old habits die hard and I thought I should get my usual Choir in there. I laughed when I saw I was down to Guest or Quest. I just didn’t think the odds were likely for both games to have Quest, though it certainly could happen and may some day, but thankfully it wasn’t today.

Go figure, when I change from Slate to Store I needed that L for two of the words. I saw a lot of words for the #1 word, among them a huge trap _IGHT. Took a chance on and chose well with Fight, even though it wasn’t correct…just took me 2 more guesses to nail the word. Folio was as good as solved though.
