Well said. I hadn’t actually thought about it in those terms, but I agree with this.

Ionic was really hard to see, as evidenced by my hail mary guess of conch. And then I completely forgot how obsessed quordle is with the five-letter word daunt, which I continue to maintain has never been used in a sentence by anyone in the history of the world. Daunting, sure. Dauntless, yep. Daunts, maybe. Daunt? Never once. I would point out that Google voice did not one single time interpret daunt correctly. So now I have to go manually correct them all in this text. (It didn’t recognize dauntless or daunts, either. Only daunting.)
On the plus side, I didn’t have to worry about the answers being covered because that only applies to the bottom two quadrants. So at least completely sucking doesn’t suck in that respect.

I thought mucus was spelled with an O, but Google to the rescue. Mucus is the noun, mucous is the adjective.

While I agree with you that it’s rarely ever used, I saw this sentence on Webster’s dictionary:
the raging inferno didn’t daunt the firefighters for a moment
So sorry for your fail! That was one heck of a trap word though…Dumpy gave me the D in the first spot, and I had the other letters, except for N, so I got lucky. I do recall it being used before, but has it shown up more than twice? I used to keep track of the answers…not sure why since they do repeat words, but that document is forever gone now on my crashed hard drive, and I decided not to continue tracking the words.

I saw the _ATCH trap, but I also saw Yacht…had to check the trap first - thank goodness it wasn’t the trap! Then I saw Kiosk first and almost went with it, but then I saw Pious…I deliberated a bit between the two and ended up choosing the wrong one.
Here is a case where I didn’t go with what would irk me the least…had I gone with Kiosk as I originally wanted to, but it was wrong, I wouldn’t be irritated with myself. For some reason I wasn’t even thinking in those terms, even on the heels of the discussion we all had the other day.
@chiliwillybing Nice job with the double 6 today!

Tough start trying to nail that first word, but the rest went smoothly. Pretty sure Ovoid was the only word that one could be. Got lucky with Worry…I was seeing 5 words it could be - oh wait, the D was ruled out, which then just left Wormy or Worry…totally didn’t realize that. And the last word, I was only seeing Hippo…unless Himbo would ever be used.
