Don’t forget that you don’t need to see your board for your answers. So for this quordle you just did, since you got a 4567 you only need to get the first three words from your board. (Your answers are always shown, so you can see 4567 from the answers instead of the board.) And with sequence you only need to get the first four since you got a 5678.
Failed puzzles are going to become super annoying trying to identify the last guesses while the page renders. Even more annoying because once it redraws once, it gets faster because of caching.
It works fine for me now. When I click the top, the score box slides down and reveals the whole puzzle. But maybe that’s because I do them on my PC - bigger screen?
I do tend to forget they are right there, but I like to make things complicated Now that I can just click on the game board and that pop-up moves down, I can see everything after zooming down a bit - it’s always weird to me that zooming things down eventually makes things bigger (I’ve encountered this elsewhere too), but that’s what works for me. Too bad you can’t do the same on a mobile. Let’s hope for no fails for you going forward!

I saw exact first, then enact, react never even crossed my mind or I would definitely have tried that first.
You just never know what to do with these dang word games. Do I use the first word I saw or the “better” word I thought of later? No matter which you decide it’s somehow most likely going to be wrong
My definitive answer is to always go with what will annoy you less when you get it wrong. If I go with the first thing I see and get it wrong, oh well, the word game gods just weren’t with me that day. If I second guess myself and keep looking and then go with something else and that’s wrong, and the answer ended up being the first thing I saw, I get like actually pissed off. So that makes it an easy no-brainer for me.
I’m tangentially reminded to something Bill Parcells said when he was retiring from coaching. (One of the times, anyway.) He said he knew it was time to retire because “winning doesn’t feel as good as losing feels bad.”
Not a bad game today…could have been a lot worse. Had a long list of words for the #4 word, so Bowel helped to narrow that one down. And turned out to be a good choice with getting the B for the #3 word, plus the B ruled out two words for #1 leaving just Cargo, as far as I could see. And then I saw Barge was completely solved for me…nice! I chose wrong for #4, darn it, but I got lucky with Patty…though the other words I felt were fairly unlikely.
No idea what I was thinking with tossing in Choir at guess 3…I could have solved Sweat after Steam. But I most likely would have played it after Sweat since I didn’t have much to go on, so no harm no foul there, and I’d have had the same final score, which I’m happy with.
Thanks! 2’s are always fun to get…it was the only word it could be, which was nice.
Yes.
Joking aside, much like @EllisDee, I tend to try and go with the one that will irk me the least if I’m wrong. Sometimes I’m not feeling one over the other and think of them relatively at same time (say in the case of Lemon vs Melon…those two words always come to me together), and in those cases I’m just merely disappointed if wrong. Though it does get a bit annoying when I guess wrong on a 50/50 more times than I don’t.
Very interesting, I never really thought about it from that perspective, but you guys are absolutely right!
If one thinks hard about it and chooses wrong then it’s a personal failure of sorts. But when you just make a random guess the outcome is not really under your control.
I do usually tend to go with whatever comes to mind first anyway, overthinking what words might fit never seems to work our well for me in the end.
