Summary
I screwed up my one chance in a million to get a 2345! If I went with my usual start words and didn’t make a dumb mistake, that is. Go figure, the day I decide to change my start words, which I haven’t done in a long time, Choir shows up. Then I played Exalt when there was no E…Adapt was the only word that one could be, which I didn’t see, but I would have if I realized that. Exalt did give me the L for the #3 word though, but I’d have figured an L may be in there anyways.
I got super lucky with nailing Flame…there were a ton of words that could have been. I spent a while trying to come up with a sleuth word, but I couldn’t find a good one, so I had to just choose one of the words on my list. I’m totally good with a 7, and really stoked I got Flame, but knowing I would have had this in 2345…just errrggg.

Cairn really threw me for a loop. I saw it right away but thought it can’t be that and kept looking. I had always assumed cairn (as in terrier) was a place in Scotland, LOL.

Summary
Barely made it on this one. 
Took a chance on Quark…also saw Guard, and in hindsight should have gone with that one, as it’d check some of the words in that mega trap for the #2 word too - so would Quark but only two with K’s. I didn’t see Drama then, but thankfully that was all there was. And that long list got whittled down to just Raver and Gazer…two uncommon words, but I chose well. Phew!
Yeah, like Chili said…another dumb uncommon word they like to use - it’s shown up before. So sorry about the fail…bummer!

This was a welcome breeze compared to Quordle. I missed the 50/50, but I made up for it with choosing Prime correctly over Pride or Gripe.
I am familiar with cairns (as in the stone markers or memorials), so that one didn’t trip me up thinking it was a proper noun, thankfully. I am also familiar with Cairn Terriers (they’re really cute!), but I’m not sure what they were named after, so I looked it up just now. They are actually named after the pile of stones - lol. Originally named “short-hair Skye Terrier” but that was rejected, so they were renamed.

Missed the 50/50 on BLAME/FLAME, but got away with it.
Interesting, I didn’t know that. They don’t look anything like Skye terriers to me.
Looked it up, they were judged under the “Skye Terrier class” along with Scotties and West Highland Whites( who apparently back then were just white Cairns)
I love terriers but have never owned one and don’t know a whole lot about their individual histories. I’ve mostly stuck to the working and herding breeds.

Yeah, the Skye and Cairn don’t really look alike to me either…I’d say the Cairn looks more like the Norwich and Norfolk terriers. There’s some really great little terrier breeds that would be fun to own, but like you, I’ve always only had the herding mixes. I always thought when I got older I might go smaller with a terrier maybe, but here I am with my 50-55 lb. GSD/BC mix.
