I thought of about a dozen words for the o,d,y, twigs helped sort that out. Nice work on that one @Robot_Arm
Well, you’re in good company with being a huge dog lover! Interesting array of breeds you’ve had, all of which most likely have kept you very busy and on your toes - lol.
Corgis are actually at the top of my list too! I’d say more so than the cute little terriers. I used to take care of two of them, and boy were they a handful - lol, but I had a lot of fun with those two hilarious wiggle-butt shorties.
@chiliwillybing Congrats on your 2 today in Wordle! You got one just the other day (we both got one that day!)…you’re on a roll.
@Robot_Arm Congrats to you too on getting a 2 in Wordle! Was that for 1/9 though and you just played it early? If so, you’re setting the bar high for Chili and I - lol.
That’s a lot of R’s , and three doubles, plus a triple. Didn’t have much to go on after my start words, so up went Dumpy, which helped. Lorry is chiefly British, but I am familiar with the term, and we’ve had that one before I think. It also helped solve Error too with placing that 2nd R in the third spot.
Terriers are cute for sure, if I did get one it would probably be a Fox Terrier but yeah, they are definitely a handful, LOL.
There are a lot of dogs I admire the looks of, like I think the Setters are gorgeous, but my main criteria has always been trainability first. I do also prefer, as you could probably tell, dogs that provide protection as well.
Pembroke or Cardigan?
It seems one good thing about quordle, if you can keep track, is it’s more than likely going to use the same words again. Recently it was topic and like you I had guessed toxic, that’s why I chose topic this time.
Just like I should have chosen prawn over brawn. I remembered prawn too, but was just being stubborn for some dumb reason, LOL.
Congrats on your two! We quordlers have been making a good showing at wordle
We had an Irish Setter growing up…she was gorgeous and a great dog. I agree about the trainability (another reason I love the herding breeds). I like the protection factor too…I live in a pretty safe area, but my second dog (aussie/lab) was large enough that I felt pretty safe with him, and I feel the same with my current GSD mix, but my cattle dog was really good at “sounding the alarms” when he felt danger was present…you know, like a leaf dropping - lol, so size isn’t always the determining factor.
Hmmm, Pembroke or Cardigan…kind of a toss-up really. One of each please. As far as looks go, I do love the coat varieties on the Cardigans (blue merle specifically), but I like the Pembroke’s more rounded body and their cute stubby tails. Temperament and personality wise, they both have qualities I like, so it could be a tough decision if I were to be seeking out a purebred Corgi. Probably would end up with a Corgi mix from a rescue, but it’s fun to think about.
I generally play a little past midnight Eastern Time, so probably just early. I don’t think “I got it in two” is any sort of a spoiler; could have been a great first guess or a lucky second one.
Maybe that’s why I’m trying for the longest streak, rather than low scores in individual games. My low scores feel like they’re due to luck more than skill.
Right, only for the intimidation factor. The cattle dogs I’ve known were great guard dogs. I used to live in a very safe area, but now urban sprawl is coming our way.
I love both types of corgis as well, but would probably go with Cardigans just because I’m not crazy about docked tails.
SLATE
CHOIR
DRESS REBUS (4) SOWER (5)
MARRY PARKA (7) BAGGY (8)
Took me a while to see Rebus and Parka. They seem to be repeating words a lot lately…that’s why I went with Sower over Sorer (didn’t like either one really). Last time I went with Sober, but the B was ruled out this time, thankfully.
I felt like we had Flame not that long ago, but I went with it in any case because words keep showing up again. And I remembered we had Manga before…I think it’s been a while though, but we’ve also had Mangy before too - just picked the wrong ones for both of them. I got lucky with Sting though (could have been Stink or Stiff).
