I must admit I am coming around to nested quoting. But I do wish it were more difficult to screw them up, as once someone accidentally takes off just one little symbol, it just snowballs from there, and penis ensues.
If you see broken quotes, just report the post and a mod should fix it.

This is what you usually see,

breaking it up makes it a lot harder to miss those ]s.
Then just delete the stuff in the middle,
