Rabbit advice

As a few of you may know, Jayjay and I rescued a female rabbit several months ago. She is a Dutch Rabbit. She has been quite friendly and playful, adapting well to our critters and household. According to the vet, she is perfectly healthy, but we were unable to determine if she had been fixed or not.

As the warm weather has arrived here, we have noticed that there are several clumps of hair in her indoor hutch. We were wondering if she may be shedding or if she may be nesting. If she has been nesting, we may have to look for other signs that she may be in heat. So we are turning to our fellow dopers as a resource. Any ideas or places to go for information would be greatly appreciated.

The House Rabbit Society has some good information. If she’s pulling out clumps of fur and making a little nest, she might be going through false pregnancy. If they’re just random clumps of fur and she has little tufts of fur sticking out, she might just be shedding.

She sounds like a sweetie. Do you have any pictures?
