Any real gourmet knows you just don’t serve a tossed salad with rabbit. You serve it with Wild Turkey Surprise.
That, sssir, is an inmitigated ffffereberication!
You know what’s missing from this forum? A random Looney Tunes quote thread.
This sounds really good. We used to raise rabbits (1950s and '60s) and sold the meat to a local grocery store. IIRC with domesticated rabbits all the pieces are white meat, used in receipts just like chicken, except for some reason it takes twice as long to cook. There was a period where we never asked What’s for supper? because it was always rabbit, the only question was how was it cooked (and what would go with it): fried, stewed, or roasted. The last time I ate rabbit was in the '70s, bought from a store and priced liked sirloin steak.

Sounds tasty. Where do you buy your rabbit? I’ve only had it once, and that was in Europe. I think I could buy rabbit from my farmshare/farmer’s cooperative since they sell a lot of unusual meat. But I’m not sure where I could get it from a “traditional” type retailer.
I live in rural Norfolk (England) and I see it in some of our local butchers - the ones that deal in game, so apparently wild rabbit. I’ve not seen farmed rabbit for a long time. I remember getting some frozen rabbit at the supermarket once, but even that was years ago.
It’s exceptionally rare to find it available in the usual national chain supermarkets. And it’ll almost certainly be frozen.
However, there’s a premium butcher in town that has an excellent variety of local farm raised meats and fresh fish. I bought some short ribs from them recently and took mental note of the rabbits in the case. The butcher said they were delivered fresh almost daily. So that’s where I’ll get mine. Going to pay through the nose for it, though. I’m expecting in the neighbourhood of $30 for a couple of pounds or so.
