Rabid Bats

Even if only one half of one percent of bats are rabid, it’s been estimated that the Mexican free-tailed bat population of Texas alone was over 100 million in 1957. One half of one percent is still a lot of bats.

But if you’re surrounded by x number of bats, and you’re bitten by one of them, is the chance that you were bitten by a rabid bat 1/2 of 1%? Or are rabid bats more likely to munch on you?
