Race, diabetes and location

Black americans are more likely to get diabetes than whites, even when socio-economic factors are taken into account. Are non-American blacks more likely to get diabetes than whites in that country? Is an active American of any race more likely to get diabetes than people of the same race in a different countries? Also, are there certain areas of the U.S. where the rates of diabetes are higher and lower than average?

Sorry for the drive by but I don’t have time to get you links. I’ll point you in the right direction, however. Check out The Centers For Disease Control (CDC) website as well as the World Health Organization (WHO) website and run a search on diabetes (prevalence, demographic, etc are good keywords)

Thanks. I went to the CDC beforehand, but didn’t think to check WHO.
