Anyone born to a black mother is black, regardless of their percentage of African ancestry. “Passing as white” wouldn’t be a thing if crazy American society didn’t define people with 87.5% European ancestry and 12.5% African ancestry as “black”. And it wouldn’t matter except that it matters oh so much.
