Racial Double Standards?

Crackers, the lot of them!

Monstro you should be well aware of the rules by now, black posters are forbidden from engaging in hyperbole. I think it’s in the FAQs.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. There are some real jackasses out there. People like that lead shallow and probably pretty shity internal lives. Put a positive spin on it all — maybe think of it as a learning experience as I have done. That’s right - I worked at a dairy during the summer last year loading milk and ice cream onto trucks. As such, team work was essential. Probably about 90% of the crew I came into contact every day were Black. There were some great guys on that team but I have to say - there was overt racism from a majority unlike I’ve ever experienced. There was daily racist name calling, attempts to intimidate, guys attempting to take my gear and my work, on and on… Like you, I suspect part of the cause was that I wasn’t wanted there because I was White. The other part though was probably because my personality just didn’t fit in. In retrospect, it was a learning and so - a positive experience. I think I’m better equipped to handle a wider range of personalities - even though it appears most of my former coworkers never will be -

So learn from that bad experience – I guess that’s what I want to say

Couldn’t have said it better, monstro. Gosh, you are well spoken. You didn’t even use ebonics, or write your post int he form of a rap, or anything!
If anything good has come out of this, it must have given gytalf2000 a new perspective (and a concrete example of racism/idiocy knowing no colour). Just like when straight guys get hit on endlessly at gay clubs, giving them a little taste of how it feels to be a girl.

Hmmm… I worked for 2 years at an almost all black university (Texas Southern Univ in Houston, for those who know it).

I’m a red-haired, blue eyed, white woman.

I never reveived any nasty comments, or snide remarks.

I have plenty of complaints about TSU (the administration of that place was terrible), but racial rudeness just wasn’t one of them.
