Of course not.
This one is easy!
- Type “how to recognize racism” into your search engine.
- Be willing to learn.
They may not have an answer that they are willing to publically admit to, but they know who they hate.
Normally this should be where the penny drops.
I can recognize racism just fine. How do I know if someone is adversely effected by it? Can a white person be effected by racism?
That doesn’t help me. I’m sure they’ve all had Asian girlfriends for example. Do they hate them?
Yes, of course not. You’re an American of reasonable intelligence, so of course you would know who was meant.
you know who else can figure such a simple question out?
Cops.
Landlords.
Loan Officers.
People who just don’t like black people
etc.
So blacks are a group that is easily identified and is subject to biased treatment. Glad we got that sorted out! Mods, you can close the thread down now.
Ohhhh. You just misunderstood.
How do racialists, I.e. the people who favor race-based policies, identify race?
Those articles you will find if you do as I ask will also point out how such racism adversely effects others. Do you wish to learn, or not?
You’re sure of what, again? How can you be sure of such a silly thing?
I understand how racism effects others. I’m not sure how we can identify who is being effected and to what extent. Is every single “black” person effected? Are they effected equally by each racist person?
I don’t recognize this combination of word and definition.
Got something else?
Are African-Americans identical clones?
No.
And with that, I’m going to quit hoping that you are looking for anything but confirmation of your beliefs. Bye.
Have you ever lived as a minority that experienced discrimination in an ongoing basis?
How do these things lead to unprotected sex?
How does it lead to abandoning your children and their mother?
Still you’re saying “racism exists, therefore everything is because of racism”
I thought this was mostly about institutional racism at this point. The unintentional racism that are basically the racist habits that society has fallen into that it hasn’t really shaken off yet.
Is the problem really still folks like the KKK?
Which of my assertions, specifically, do you disagree with? I can’t tell what you’re disputing. I laid out a series of assertions that, to me, are pretty straight forward and logical. If you disagree, which assertions do you disagree with?
That any of this stuff leads to unprotected sex or abandoning your children and their mother.
So you don’t believe that there exists any circumstance in which a human being, regardless of culture, is more likely to have unprotected sex or not be available as a father?
I can think of two scenarios that come to mind rather easily – for the first, not having condoms at hand, and for the second, being incarcerated. Do you believe there aren’t any others?
So people are effected by racism on an individual basis? There are probably many “black” people who are uneffected by racism and some “whites” that are effected by racism. No?
What is a minority? Americans of German descent are minorities, right? People with blonde hair are minorities. People with blue eyes are minorities.
Have I experienced discrimination? Probably not as much as many “black” people, but probably more than some of them. Americans live many different lives in many different situations. Maybe I had an interview with a black person that didn’t like people with blonde hair. Maybe I didn’t get the job. Will Blue Ivy Carter experience more intense negative consequences of discrimination than will every single “white” person in the US? I doubt it.
What if a “black” person has grown up with little to no contact with “whites”? What if a “white” person was picked on in a majority “black” HS.
Do you think Blue Ivy Carter will experience the discrimination a “white” mentally disabled person will experience?
Supporters of race-based policies claim to support equality for all, but that is not possible in a world of individuals.
That you think “ask the racists” means “ask folks like the KKK” is indicative of one large aspect of the problem - BBQ Becky & Permit Patty are as much the racists under consideration as the Imperial Wizard of the KKK.
Since andy has identified average income as being some sort of indicator for discrimination, let’s look at the above list under the heading “By ancestry”. This gives us a more nuanced picture of supposed race and income. You will find that Nigerian-Americans make slightly more than Scotch-Irish-Americans, French-Americans, and Yugoslavian-Americans. Maybe it isn’t so easy to pinpoint who is experiencing racism in a way that adversely effects them.
