My family did not get a TV until I was 7 or 8. Until than I remember listening to the radio for family entertainment. Are there any other folks out there that listened to the radio with their family until they had TV?
I’m sure there are others. We didn’t get a TV until 1958, and it was the third in the neighborhood. That must have been a pivotal period, because they were everywhere soon thereafter.
The upside of being sick and staying in bed was getting to have the radio in my room beside the bed.
