Radio solar transit outage

My local public radio station has been having “solar transit outages” everyday at about the same time. The program cuts off and a message plays telling me that the signal has been caused by the sun as it passes behind the communications satellite that sends the NPR program to my station. It states this happens every spring and fall but I don’t remember it before.
Is it happening where you are? Is it happening to other radio stations or TV stations?
Are satellites of all types having trouble? Please let me know what you know.
I am in coastal South Carolina by the way.
Thanks

this occurs before the spring equinox and after the fall equinox in the northern hemisphere when using a geostationary satellite.
