About two months ago a beer friend suggested I try the beer he was drinking. He said it was a radler. It was OK, kinda like a shandy. Since then it seems like radlers are everywhere.
So: what’s the difference between radlers and shandies? And what else “new” is going on in the beer world?
As far as I know, Radler isn’t a new thing…it’s German-style beer and lemonade. A shandy is U.K. style beer and “lemonade,” meaning Sprite or some such. I like to use San Pellegrino Limonata since Schweppes Bitter Lemon has disappeared, but I haven’t discovered the perfect matching brew yet. Will work on it this summer.
