In the music video for “Sleep Now in the Fire” by Rage Against the Machine, it shows the band giving a concert in front of the Stock Exchange, without the permission of the mayor. At the end it says that the stock exchange had to shut down because of them. If there were a band that would do this, it would be Rage, but I can’t see how they wouldn’t all just get arrested pretty much right away. Did this actually happen, or was this staged?
It did indeed happen. You can probably find some info about it archived on mtv.com, or check the ratm web site. The bandmembers were not arrested, but the director of the video was arrested. The stock exchange was closed whenever the members of the band tried to enter the stock exchange, but were not allowed entry by the security guards. Here found the link for you.
