Rain in Manhattan

I thought this was important to note, for all of you that saw the headlines about how it hindered the search investigation, I think it is important to report that the cloud of dust and debris hanging in the air was choking people and making people sick. So if it’s any consolation, the rain was more likely a boon than a burden.

From what I’ve read, the rain has turned much of the dust on the ground to incredibly slippery much. So, the searchers are having that much harder a time getting through the debris to find survivors.

They have respirators to deal with airborne dust. They don’t have the strength and agility to deal with the mud. So, no, the rain isn’t helping.

BTW, was this supposed to be its own topic or were you replying to someone and hit the wrong button?

Thanks for the update and everything, and please understand I’m not trying to be an ass when I ask, “Why is this in the Pit?”

I don’t know why I put it in the pit. Just put it there, if it’s wrong a moderator will move it.

As to the searchers, they are not the only people in New york affected by the toxic air. My friends live over 100 blocks from the WTC and they were being choked by the air. So the rain is probably a boon. And let’s face it, those workers aren’t searching for survivors, they are collecting bodies.

Like we don’t have enough to do. It’s not our job to look after your laziness.

Like I said “If it’s wrong” do me a favor and someone tell me where I should have put it?

Erek

Well, it’s fairly Mundane, kinda Pointless, you felt the need to Share it…I don’t know if we have a place for that or not, though.

I didn’t feel it was either mundane, nor pointless.

Erek

And now that I am being flamed it is in the appropriate place without a doubt, thanks guys for helping me out.

CNN-

Firefighters said the rain washed away dust and lessened the smoke, but made the debris heavier to remove.

AP -

Work at ground zero - the enormous mass of wreckage created when the two skyscrapers crumbled - was complicated by a ferocious overnight downpour that turned dust into mud and made even the simplest tasks more difficult and dangerous.

Please. That’s hardly a flame. In the future, you may want to consult the forum descriptions, where it says clearly (emphasis mine):

Or, since you offered your opinion of the rain being a help or hindrance:

It’s really not that difficult. And no, this post is not a flame, either. Although your attitude seems to deserve one. Your actions thus far, in this thread alone:
First you just pick a forum, not thinking (or possibly caring) where it’s supposed to be, relying on the mods to clean up after your laziness. Then you want someone to tell you where it should go instead of (again) thinking for yourself. When the person tells you, you pretend it’s flame to justify the thread being in the Pit. Sad, really.

And again, don’t make anything of this post either. I have not flamed you. I am simply pointing out why the OP is not being well-received, as I see it.

Well, I think you are probably right. My actions were in error. But on the bright side you found a cause to get behind.

Well, hey, I happen to think this is the perfect place for this thread. As a matter of fact, I read the thread title and I thought, “Yes!!”, because now those guys are out there sloppin’ through the mud, diggin’ out bodies, and it was bad enough last week, when it was beautiful September weather, and I thought, “Well, at least it isn’t raining…”

And now–it is.

So FUCK YOU, RAIN!!

[sub]see, we can make this into a Pit thread if we all work together[/sub]
