Apparently a non-supervised baby fell out a 7th-floor window, hit an awning, then caught by someone that saw it as it happened.

Ye gods. The chances of that little girl living once she fell must have been one in a billion. The very thought makes my skin crawl.
Kudos the the “young man” who saw what was about to happen and got his father to help.
I like how the picture accompanying the article is not of the actual baby from the story, but a file photo from the Getty archives. Just in case anyone reading the story doesn’t know what a baby looks like, I suppose.
Even if he was ready the fact he was able to catch her was very lucky. She could have torn through the awning, bounced 30 feethorizontally, or just rolled off the edge.
I can’t do the math anymore, how fast was the kid going when it hit the awning?
My very rough math says ~60 mph.
