raisinbread, You Dumb Bitch.

This is something that was bothering me for quite a while now, but I felt a little silly pitting about it (I generally don’t feel the need to pit people). I see an opportunity to state my opinion; sorry to piggy-back, Sue. I’ll try not to pile on as much as possible.

Is there a chance that you could stop writing in purple? I like to read all I can here, and in the case you might say something noteworthy, my eyes will face an assault for doing so, thanks to the similarty between your color of choice and the background color that is usually pleasing to the eyes.

Might you consider using plain old black? I won’t think you any less raisin-y for it.

Aren’t raisins dark brown? At least they’re silent…

When I first saw the person being Pitted I thought that someone finally snapped over the lame ass purple thing as well. It wasn’t clever when you started it, and it is even lamer now.

See, being color-blind like Monty is, I thought raisins were black myself. And I only found out that the are (largely so) purple when I asked auntie em why the heck raisinbread was posting in blue when raisins are clearly black.

“No,” auntie em said, “they’re purple.”

“Of course they aren’t,” I said. “The California Raisins weren’t purple–they were black. In fact, my little brother dressed up as one for Halloween when he was a wee kiddie. He made the costume himself and the costume was black.”

“Didn’t you tell me that your little brother is color-blind as well?”

“Screw you.” (Not said in anger, of course. I just figure that if I end all of our discussions that way, she just might let me one day. ;))

Anyway, I don’t mind raisinbread posting in blue (ahem!) like she does, except for the fact that everyone knows that raisins are black.

Let me join the raisins are black crowd.

Now that they are putting all that fruit in cereal now-- will future generations look at us funny for eating cereal with raisins in it?

Will they even know what raisins are? Well, hopefully the cinnamon raisin bagel will keep the raisin industry afloat. I would hate get to “spare changed” on a street corner by an out of work California Raisin due to the rapid inroads of the dehydrated strawberries, blueberry and raspberry products into the cereal industry.

BTW, Berry Blast Cheerios is really, really good.

It could be worse. She could be a white raisin.

Maybe she is one of them thar California raisins.

One has to wonder what her raison d’etre is…

No, now I’m not going to join the pile-on about the purple text. I used to have purple hair. If raisinbread wants to be way too purple, that’s OK with me.

Back to the OP, I think Steve Wright’s comments bear repeating.

If that dead soldier that you think you have the right to view on the network news was your brother/husband/friend, I think you may understand Persephone’s vehemence. There’s a reason the Geneva convention maintained certain war-related decorums.

Posting in purple makes the dead Mr. Rogers cry.

(Anyone remember Purple Panda?)

Same here, Airman. Kept me off of flying duty for my specialty, but that was it. I guess they were afraid I couldn’t tell the ground from the sky (although my color-blindness is very mild - I can see the purple posts, but yellow on a light background is invisible - I always thought raisins were dark purple myself…oh well).

My dad and one of my nephews are colorblind. My dad was in the AF during the Korean war/police action. He was a photo interpreter. Back then, of course, they only had black and white aerial photos, which is what he worked with. He WAS disqualified from a number of jobs because of his colorblindness.

My nephew always gets the first deer of the season, and generally gets the most deer, too, because apparently he can just spot them better.

Sorry for the hijack, I just think that colorblindness is interesting.

I cannot believe people are getting upset about someone posting in a different color. For Chrissakes, that’s anal. Bet you’re the same folks that bitch about someone wearing white after Labor Day, aren’t you?

I like raisinbread’s purple text.

I also think the OP is overly harsh. It was posted after the second thread had already been closed, it was clear from the second thread that raisin was trying act according to the rules.

She was well-meaning, if misguided, and I don’t feel that terms like “dumb bitch”, “stupid bitch”, and “lame cunt” are appropriate.

Regardless of the OP’s gender, I also find those terms sexist, and verging on the gender equivalent of race hate.

I sure do love that ignore function!

How about you unwedge your sweaty ass from that vinyl chair and fuck off? I may be anal (or I may just have a pet peeve) but at least I have a life.

From the Pit rules sticky:Don’t say or imply that someone is on your ignore list.

As long as we are harping on rules.
