Nader’s attributing to skill what is actually just a side benefit of speaking your mind with no filter. Biden gets the same benefit of the doubt. A scripted politician gets criticized for any misstep. An unfiltered, unrehearsed politician gets to correct themselves. IT’s like anything in life, there are tradeoffs. Stick to your script and the cost of going off script is great. Don’t use a script and you say more dumb stuff, but it’s easier to mitigate the consequences of saying dumb stuff.
Only among the ones that are already the followers of the ones saying the dumb stuff, no such luck outside the sandbox, in the park at large the dumb stuff remains dumb stuff.

Yeah, 'cause it’s rude. Even in Nader’s youth, it was rude to make personal remarks to a female stranger in public (or to a male stranger, for that matter, but most such incidents of rudeness involved men making remarks to women).
