I’m sure there have been two safeties by one team in one quarter before. But if you mean scoring precisely 4 points in a quarter, yeah that is rare, but probably not a first.

I think scoring 6 pts in a qtr is quite common though. :smiley:

The Rams had 3 safeties in one quarter in 1984. I’m not sure any team had two safeties in one quarter and no other scores. Tough to research that.

And here Fred Dryer was credited with two safeties in the fourth quarter of a game. Like the previous mention, there was at least one other score that quarter.

Iowa beat Penn State 6-4 in 2004. Iowa had two field goals, PSU had two safeties, one in the first quarter and one in the fourth.
