After getting this forwarded to me, I tried to find out if 99% of Americans are exposed to random violence, I tried a google search for “Pat Malone 99% us exposed victim violent crime” but all I found out is people really love this thing.

Exposed is a rather ambiguous word. I’m exposed to random violence every time I step out of my car downtown to get a slice of pizza. Hell, I’m exposed sleeping in my bed at night. In fact every American is exposed to the ‘brutality of weather’ every second of every day.
Meaningful statistics provide a probability of occurrence. There’s nothing like statistics to prove a moot point.
