Rank all the seasons of Buffy and Angel together!

Put together a list of what you think the order of quality is in the Buffyverse together. This really only works if you’ve seen nearly every episode of both shows entire runs.

  1. Buffy- Season 3

  2. Buffy- Season 2

  3. Angel- Season 4

  4. Buffy- Season 4

  5. Buffy- Season 5

  6. Angel- Season 3

  7. Buffy- Season 1

  8. Angel- Season 2

  9. Buffy- Season 6

  10. Angel- Season 1

The seventh season of Buffy is not over, and it’s tough to rank it since it has the really important series finale coming up. I tend to think that if things continue as they are, it’d be one notch above Season 6 of Buffy, below Season 2 of Angel.

I thought most of B.2 was crap. It was only saved by the murder of Jenny Calender and Buffy killing Angel. Yes, Spike was fun and snarky but it wasn’t until the end that we got characters that were not only 3d, but 4d, so to say. That is with more nuances than anything else in television.

So my rank, as it stands right now, goes like this:

Here’s my ranking:

  1. Angel Season 3 - The “big bad” was superb and even though I hated the end, I realized it was necessary to do so.
  2. Buffy Season 3
  3. Probably Buffy Season 7
  4. Buffy Season 5
  5. Angel Season 4
  6. Angel Season 2
  7. Buffy Season 2
  8. Angel Season 1
  9. Buffy Season 6 - great finale, I wish the season had been as good.
  10. Buffy Season 1
  11. Buffy Season 4

Sorry…I think Buffy 6 is FAR underrated. Maybe it disturbed too many preconceived notions about Buffy. I think in the long run it will be considered one of the greats, along with Buffy 3.

Still haven’t watched all Angel episodes, but here’s from what I have seen so far:

  1. Buffy Season 2 (I’m just partial to Angelus, what can I say, and I thought it had the best story arc. I will concede a couple of clunkers and have Bad Eggs stashed away at the very bottom end of my subconscious)

  2. Buffy Season 3 (It’s a close call, though. Go Mayor.)

  3. Buffy Season 5

  4. Buffy Season 6 (agreeing with Rythefly here)

  5. Angel Season 1

  6. Angel Season 2 (Plrtz Glrb. Let me do the dance of happiness.)

  7. Buffy Season 1 (I’m a bit loath to put it this low, it did get me hooked, but it had to be somewhere)

  8. Buffy Season 7 (sad thing is it had the potential (ha, ha) for more)

  9. Angel Season 4 (I am sorry, I just thought it dragged on at times and if it had been Buffy everybody would have been complaining about the “boring filler eps”. Plus, Connor whining is not my idea of a good time.)

  10. Buffy Season 4 (Hated Riley. Hated him with a passion.)
    Angel Season 3 is the one where I missed most episodes, therefore I’ll leave it out.
