Yeah, I don’t know who has door-cleaning duty this week but thank you for not making that person clean your ass-prints and skid marks off the door. The mods have enough work to do around here.
I think you mean “the responsible adults who, following the evolving advice of actual medical professionals, acted in a manner that would greatly reduce the risks of suffering from a potential deadly or debilitating illness and spreading it to others”.
I mean, I can understand why those who, out of petty selfishness or ignorance, opted not to engage in quite reasonable actions to prevent harm from coming themselves and others prefer to present themselves as “freedom fighters standing up for civil rights” rather than as the petty little toddlers throwing a toy-aisle tantrum and screaming “IT’S NOT FAIR!” they really are, because everyone is the hero of their own narrative. But the reality is that what they really fought for was the view that it was “Better that a thousand strangers die than I be minorly inconvenienced”, and they don’t like having the truth of their self-centered moral bankruptcy pointed out.
Which “civil rights” were those? Because much of the trucker protests were astroturfed efforts aimed at stirring up generalized anger in a tiny minority of truckers who struggled to articulate what they were against, offering up such rationales as opposition to a “federal mask mandate” that doesn’t exist, erasing BLM messages from public spaces, and worrying about being “digitiled” (turned into a robot) while also engaging in criminal acts including attempted arson in Ottawa and threatening to literally kidnap Beltway drivers.
Welcome once more to the opposite of reality. The issue isn’t “calling rioters peaceful protesters”; it’s that the right-wing media have consistently called peaceful protesters rioters. (Which is not to say that there weren’t rioters, but the vast majority of protests were peaceful).
The “PLANdemic” has long been exposed as batshit insanity, as is evident with the slightest bit of consideration.
Ah, the “I don’t understand science, therefore it’s the scientists who are stupid” argument. That does get a lot of use.
“The public” know it’s a vaccine. And it’s a “thought” backed by actual epidemiologists across the globe and supported by peer-reviewed studies.
You, on the other hand, appear to be operating on the premise “It’s not true because I don’t want it to be true”.
If you don’t like being called out for endangering others, maybe don’t endanger others. And, again, there is substantial evidence to show that at this juncture the unvaccinated population are vastly more likely to be hospitalized or killed by COVID than the vaccinated population.
What’s “moronic” and “evil” are the people deliberately spreading both misinformation and disease.
Oh, and Biden was legitimately and legally elected to his office in 2020. Just wanted to mention that.
The whole world is looking at the American antivaxxers and wondering what the actual fuck is wrong with those people.
We’re just fulfilling our purpose of fighting ignorance. But thanks for chiming in on the “pro-ignorance” side.
You’re a person who believes a lot of ridiculous conspiracy theories despite a vast amount of evidence to the contrary, judging by the OP.
You did. And then we all pointed out just how spectacularly wrong you were by every metric.
They think this was all masterminded by an elderly man who’s too senile to recognize his breakfast. Who also supposedly masterminded the crime of the century.
No, the complaint is, he doesn’t realize that his ideas are stupid, malicious, and even evil.
And I love all these “You just do what the government tells you!” rants, where they manage to ignore all the people not just doing “what the government tells us”.
I started wearing masks before the government said we should. This week, my local government has told us we don’t have to wear masks anymore, and yet, I continue. Why? Because I’m not a “sheeple” who needs to be lead around, and actually did, and do, make my own choices based on my own understanding of the situation.
And this week actually makes me feel better about society in general than I’ve felt since this began, because when I’ve been out shopping, about 90% of the people are doing the same. We know we can ditch the masks legally, but most of us have decided for ourselves not to do that. Because it turns out we’re not just following orders.
He never said anything about not watching the Plandemic “documentary”. I believe there were a number of right wing sites hosting that, and Fox or OANN or NewsMax (or some combo thereof) certainly broadcast it at least once.
