Rantings about stupid nuclear reporting, and I want to bitchslap somebody, also other crap

Just because it is so delicious here it is again.

That never gets old.

That is indeed some pretty classic stupid.

It’s not the stupidest thing I’ve read here, to be sure, but it’s a noble effort.

The denier is firmly stuck in what I call a “no science” zone, in which their belief is the only important thing. We know of course that breathing in radioactive particles is one of the reasons for high doses, which are directly connected to increased cancer rates in smokers. Nobody but the most ardent denier will dispute this.

It’s one reason the estimate deaths from coal stacks, because of damage to the lungs from soot from coal, which also contains radioactive materials from the coal. Radon also is damaging because of breathing it, almost nobody denies this any longer.

The radioactive material from phosphate fertilizers increased the cancer risk, and is well know among researchers.

Yet when it comes to the vast quantities of fall out from bomb testing, the nuclear denier will flat out tell you not a single person who smokes got any extra radiation from the world wide contamination. It’s magical.

The same is true for the other increases in cancer following WWII

Somehow not a single person got any ill effect from the radiation. It’s a wonderful world we live in.

Who are you arguing with? Kindly point to a post in this thread from someone who has denied those points you just made. What we see here is FXMastermind continuing to argue with his little strawmen. Boy, when he whacks 'em they sure fall down! Wow!

(Note by the way that “extra radiation” is not necessarily equivalent to “unhealthful increased amount” much less “lethal dose.”)

Who are these “nuclear deniers” he keeps talking about? They sound like an unreasonable bunch of characters, wot?

Wait, I thought they were “nuclear apologists”?

Denier apologists?

Apologist deniers?

Rational human beings?

You left out cheerleaders.

From 60 minutes. March 20th

(video here - http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/60minutes/main3415.shtml )

Interview with Julia Nesheiwat. She’s a State Department official who was already in Japan working on nuclear issues. She served in Washington as deputy chief of staff to the director of national intelligence.

It’s much more powerful watching her on video, but we all know you won’t watch it..

Of course Scott Pelley doesn’t ask the follow up question, or point out the bleeding obvious facts to her.

But lets look at two things she said, with a straight face.

“If there is an explosion, if there is a meltdown, a fire, it can absolutely affect the neighboring plants,” she told Pelley.

Seriously? You are going to say that now? After there has already been three explosions, and all four buildings are damaged, shit leaking everywhere, that is what you want us to know?

But then, the ultimate evasion.

Asked what that would mean, she said, “Goodness, I don’t even want to think what that could mean. That’s just something that we would have to really plan for it at the greatest scale. And** we’re hoping and praying **that that’s not the case.”

So that’s the answer? You don’t want to think about it?

And you are hoping and praying? That’s it?

That’s just something that we would have to really plan for it at the greatest scale.

In simple terms, you didn’t answer the question at all. Just like no other person has done since the first explosion.

Nobody, not any real media outlet, no expert, not one person has ever (that I know of) explained what the consequences would be if they have to abandon the place, what will happen if they can’t fix it.

Because honestly, someone, somewhere in this thread has claimed that, right?

Yep, the worldwide nuclear cabal is so bad even this sweet lady is in on it:

I see FXMastermind still hasn’t learned that little second grade lesson about paragraphs, yet.

The ninth grade lesson about arguing with your own straw men is for later.

So interestingly my buddy the reactor core designer and his Japanese wife are visiting me today. They WERE reading over my shoulder, but they were literally incapacitated by laughter at FX’s posts. True story.

“If you tell someone the truth, make them laugh. Otherwise they will kill you.”

Oscar Wilde

Fear not, you’re in absolutely no danger of any kind.

Whatever made you think I was?

Whatever made you think he thought you were?

Trolls are boring.

You know damn well I’m not. It’s why you are butthurt.

Meanwhile back in Japan, they are putting up lead shields around the new hot spots.

Anyone in the world can watch them putting up the giant tents over the buildings. Say bye bye to building one, it will soon vanish from sight. Forever.

You’re not telling the truth, making us laugh, in danger, or Oscar Wilde?

One could argue for any of those.
