I just couldn’t vote for Smoke on the Water. Every time I hear the song I think of the Homer Simpson version, not the original. It’s not Deep Purple’s fault. I voted for Layla, Heartbreaker, Purple Haze, and You Really Got Me. Nothing against Day Tripper either but it’s not at the top of my Beatles riff heap. I think that honor has to go to Come Together (if we can count basslines) and Hey Bulldog.
