100.Anything by the post-Roger Waters reformation (boo!)

Gah, didn’t include Westing by Musket & Sextant in my Pavement list. Oh, well, it was basically just a collection of EPs. It’s great, though, I’d probably rank it somewhere in the top three.

CaptBushido, I think my Pavement list would look identical to yours.

Great googly moogly, I’m a huge Frank Zappa fan and don’t even have all of his albums!

  1. Sea Change

It’s interesting that while Warren Zevon’s best albums were his earliest, Beck’s best albums are his latest. That bodes well for Beck.

I should post an Electric Frankenstein list since they’re one of my favorite bands, but their discography is a mess, with tons of 7"s, 10"eps, LP comps of 7"s…my head hurts just thinking about trying to decide what to include on the list.

And Husker, in honor of the great nation of Norway, here’s my Turbonegro list:
Never Is Forever
Apocalypse Dudes
Ass Cobra
Hot Cars and Spent Contrceptives
Scandinavian Leather (It grows on you, I swear!)

I’ll take the Zappa challenge, although I’m only going to list the records I have, so that leaves most of his “serious” work out.

1-Sheik Yerbouti (OK, this may be a cheesey choice for #1, but this is the first FZ album I really paid total attention to. It didn’t hurt that my friends and I went a whole summer with a broken record player and this was the only tape we had.)

2-Thing Fish (It was like everything Frank had done up untill that point led to Thing Fish. Not only was the story cool, there was a related Hustler pictoral to go along with it, but the most fun was all the refrences to earlier FZ themes and characters.)

3-Bongo Fury

4-Studio Tan

5- Filmore East…no, Broadway The Hard…no…You Are What…wait, what about the YCDTOSA series…Drowning Witc…Apostro…Roxy…

Ya know…I cant do this…

Jon

No need to defend it, as far as I’m concerned. Although it wasn’t #1 on my list, I agree; it’s a hell of an album, no matter what anyone else says.

Hüsker Dü

1: New Day Rising
2: Zen Arcade
3: Warehouse: Songs and Stories
4: Flip Your Wig
5: Everything Falls Apart
6: Candy Apple Grey
7: Land Speed Record

The Eight Miles High EP and The Living End should be near the top somewhere, but I don’t have a clue how to incorporate them numerically.

Butthole Surfers

1: Rembrandt Pussyhorse
2: Psychic…Powerless…Another Man’s Sac
3: Locust Abortion Technician
4: Hairway To Steven
5: Independant Worm Saloon
6: Pioughd
7: Electric Larryland

I can offer no opinion on Weird Revolution

The Who

1: Tommy
2: Live At Leeds
3: Who’s Next
4: Quadrophenia
5: The Who By Numbers
6: The Who Sell Out
7: A Quick One
8: Who Are You
9: The Who Sing My Generation

The Pixies

1: Surfer Rosa
2: Doolittle
3: Bossanova
4: Come On Pilgrim
5: Trompe Le Monde
