Not unless I eat a whole bag of them, no. I can definitely nosh down 1/4 lb with no tummy ouchies.
Your description to me sounds more like IBS than an allergy. It has to do with the fiber overstimulating your digestive system, if I understand correctly. They tell us to watch out for any raw veggies.
Carrots haven’t really been a problem for me personally, though.
That is interesting; aside from my IBS issues, one of the very few things that I have actually been diagnosed as being allergic to is tree pollens.
I get stomach pain after eating raw carrots too. When I was pregnant it was sooo bad I ate probably 1/4 of a small bag of mini carrots and I was crying in pain. I almost went to the hospital but held out and the pain eventually subsided, I also get the same pain with cabbage or coleslaw . I’m thinking it’s the high fibre in it, my body just can’t break it down like others. I had problems with bacon and peanut butter when I was pregnant too, the doc said it sounded like I might need to get my gallbladder out after I had my baby but it was never that bad again. I never eat more than 1 small/medium sized carrot now. I ate 1 medium sized one tonight and I had a slight bit of pain and my stomach wouldn’t stop twitching/ spasming, so stubborn. I love carrots too.
I
raw carrots, can easily have 3/4 pound per day. Most of the time fine but every once in a while, there’s a squeezing at the bottom of the esophagus that holds for a few minutes. Yes I chew it and wash beforehand.
What about watermelon? I kept reading how it’s a ‘perfect’ food so I tried it a couple of times, and both times almost immediately squeezing, burning, and feeling of air hunger. I read something about some people just are unable to take watermelon but no definite reason. I ate it when young, but can some1 get an allergy later in life?
Apparently it’s just called the “core.”
I hope the wait was worth it.
22 years to get an answer has to be close to a record. The answer, after all that time, is bit underwhelming - a parable for life I think.
But as you are merely the messenger I am not holding you responsible. Thank you, have a carrot.
This is the carrot:
