Re this story- Assuming there’s no witnesses, no police report, and no doctor visit conforming injuries, and no DNA evidence how in the world would you even being to investigate this allegation as a matter of police procedure?
I suppose an interview with the complainant might be a good place to start.
July of 2008?!? So, a woman gets raped and she waits a full year, and then files a civil suit? Not criminal charges, but she is looking for money? And, ohbytheway, the guy just happens to be a multimillionaire quarterback?
No way. But, hey, why not take a chance at getting the money? Just like that Duke stripper, you don’t get in trouble for making up false rape allegations, so make up your best lie!
From the quoted text, this is not a criminal complaint, but a civil one. So the police (and District Attorneys, etc.) aren’t involved at all. It’s a civil suit, basically similar to any suit about someone owing money to someone else. It’s up to the plaintiff to investigate and prove.
I would assume that there is at least going to be a doctor visit. On the other hand, it’s probably going to result in a nuisance value settlement even if there’s no evidence at all.
I would have thought Big Ben’s lawyer would be smart enough not to say something like this: “Ben has never sexually assaulted anyone; especially Andrea McNulty,”
How the hell do you especially not rape someone?
I thought criminal charges had been filed against the Duke stripper, no?
I have never heard charges being filed against Crystal Mangum.
