Re-watching Friends

I love it when Maggie “Janice” Wheeler shows up on Archer as Trinette, Sterling’s regular call girl (“No Cyril! When they’re dead they’re just hookers!”). She has the perfect voice for the role, especially when she cuts loose with some foul language.

I never made the connection between Janice and Trinette - of course you’re right! Ha! Now everything clicks into place. Thanks!

Farewell, JMT:

Also worth a read (and my thanks to MrAtoz for posting it in the thread on cancer and JMT):

Poor dear: Courteney Cox still doesn't remember 'Friends' | CNN

I don’t think it’s supposed to be that serious. It was a job for her. It’s like, how much do you remember about a job you did 25 years ago?

All of it.

But I’m in a support group to try to forget it. Alcohol is involved.

^ Maybe Courteney drank all her memory away filming “Cougartown” (or whatever it was called that week)?

As long as she remembers The Routine . . .

Nooooooo!

I’m trying to find two scenes which appear in the opening credits of some Friends seasons, but I can’t remember what episodes they’re from. In one, Joey is holding a bowling ball and a blowtorch and has a maniacal smile. In the other, Chandler is sitting at a table, playing cards, and throws one away from him in disgust. The second is not from S1’s “The One with All the Poker.”

That’s “The One With The Inappropriate Sister” where Joey tries to write a movie script and ends up making up the game “fireball”.

Could it be “The One On The Last Night” wheree Chandler makes up the card game “Cups”?

Could be - thanks! I’ll check ‘em out.

I don’t think it’s from any episode.

A scene of the cast playing cards in Central Perk was filmed for the opening credits, but was scrapped in favor of the fountain dancing. A few clips from this sequence did make their way into some early-season credits, however.

I can’t find a cite for this, but I think I recall seeing the unused card-playing credits in last year’s reunion special.

OK, thanks. Didn’t know that.

I figured it out. It’s from the end of “They One With the Jellyfish” where Chandler and Monica are playing Gin.

Confirmed, and thanks.

I watched both episodes, and it’s not in either of them, although the end-credits scene in “Jellyfish” does show C&M playing cards. I appreciate the suggestions, though.

Bumped.

Just the thing for Valentine’s Day!

Since this thread has been bumped, I’ll mention that Nick at Night is doing “Friends A-Z” this month. Each night they show four episodes which include elements beginning with a certain letter.
The wife and I are having fun guessing in advance what the episodes will be.

Tonight is R, and we’ve come up with Richard, Rat Babies, Ring, and Russ.
