Milo Yiannopoulos is nowhere near as terrible as people say. He’s just a troll. People who call him a Nazi or a white supremacist or whatever are just being histrionic.

I placed those words of this quote, in bold, because, well I disagree. I don’t think calling him names that compare him to hate groups as histrionic at all.

Trolls add nothing to a conversation, nothing constructive or profound to a society, hell, they add nothing at all. There is no need for a troll. Just like there are no needs for hate groups. If all the trolls disappeared tomorrow, no one would miss them, hell, we’d actually have interesting conversations on all internet message boards.

BobLibDem is correct, Jefferson: Obscenities (and profanities, curses, and swears-- I think I might be the last person in the world who makes the distinction) are permitted on this board, so long as they’re not used in a way that violates some other rule. Asking whether a particular media personality used a particular word (I think that’s what started this) is certainly not a violation of any board rule. Use as an intensifier, as BobLibDem did, is also generally acceptable.

O the irony. Having taken credit for the downfall of Milo Yiannopoulos Bill Maher himself comes under fire for condoning sex between an adult and a minor.

On Wednesday, a 19-year-old video clip posted to YouTube on Wednesday shows then-Politically Incorrect star Maher defending Mary Kay Letourneau, the teacher convicted of having sex with a then-12-year-old student. At the time of the taping, the Seattle teacher was 35 and the student 14, and she was in jail and pregnant with their second child.

Letourneau, Maher said, “is in jail because she’s in love. That’s how I view it.”

“I admit it’s unorthodox” Maher continued, “She’s 35, the boy is 14. He was younger when they started. But she is pregnant again. … This is the second child by this boy. They are keeping the mother in jail because she won’t conform to what society feels should be the perfect American family.”

When one of his panelists suggests Letourneau raped the boy, Maher shot back, “Raped? Come on. … How do you know, and how can you? How can a woman rape a man?”

Whoops! But at least he knows how the slimy Yiannopoulos feels when an old video returns to screw you over.

BTW I like Maher but I do think he went a little too far back then. Of course a woman can rape a man. For instance one woman holds a gun to the guy’s head and threatens to put a bullet in his head unless he screws the other woman. Female on male rapes are very rare but they do occur and of course in this instance it was statutory rape, far more common in female on male rapes.
