I’m watching the weirdest thing I’ve seen on TV in some time. During tonight’s “Real Time,” the audience was peppered with loud protesters. Not sure what their issue is, but they were audibly screaming and shouting for about 20 minutes. At one point Bill Maher yells, “Where’s our security?” and proceeded to walk into the audience, and physically push out one of the protesters. Minutes later a woman starts yelling something, and Maher yells back, “I’ll kick your ass out of here, too!”
Anybody else see this going on? Freaky. Every now and then, the audience doesn’t behave… I must say that Maher knows how to handle hecklers.
I saw the show live and even though at first I couldn’t make out what that guy in the audience was yelling about, I automatically knew it was probably a 9-11 conspiracy nut.
These people are only one micro-step removed from the jerkwads who harass and heckle astronauts because they’re cocksure the moon landing didn’t really occur.
It’s hard for me to understand people who are convinced that our government could pull of 9-11. I’d be hard pressed to believe this administration could organize a beer run, let alone 9-11.
When I saw the the title, I thought maybe the Corn Syrup Conspiricists had launched their Junta, taking Bill hostage in exchange for the immediate dismantling of the Karo Concordance.
I honestly can’t understand the mindset of someone who believes “they” were behind 9/11, yet doesn’t feel the slightest bit of fear proclaiming that “they” were behind 9/11 on camera.
If “they” really were behind 9/11, you think they’d have the slightest hesitation about disappearing people who discover the truth?
Some of these people believe 9/11 didn’t involve a single aircraft being crashed. Logical thought is as much a part of their lives as black tar heroin is a part of the life of a T. rex. A T. rex that fights crime with his Dalek friend Bob.
One of the guys who used to host a local sports talk show here was a “truther.” I got into it with him via email and he invited me to participate in a 3 hour on air debate and I gladly accepted…then he got fired before we could have the debate.
I listen to the Podcast as I’m Canadian and have no way of watching it (unless it’s on some channel that I’ve been missing for the last few years).
Who were the guests and what was the major focus of the show? Were they actually talking about the 9/11 conspiracy?
I watched Loose Change years ago and I have to admit that it was kind of convincing for maybe the first 20 to 30 minutes but the bit that is utterly unbelievable about the whole conspiracy is when they talk about how the plane full of people was diverted and landed somewhere in michigan (I think). Now you’re telling me that not one person on that plane, not one person on that plane’s family or friends, and not one person at the airport talked over these last six years? Come on.
Just watched the incident. (Still watching the show.) I have little patience for CTs. It was good to see Bill Maher actually angry (as opposed to his angry onscreen persona). I hope he has a full show on Conspiracy Theories. That would be fun to watch.
I’m a big fan of Bill Maher, but I’d like to follow Maher’s own “be more cynical” edict and call shenanigans. I’ve seen no evidence that Bill Maher is anything but a prissy primadona (anyone see him lose it over an audio problem a few weeks back?). I’m skeptical that he’d throw himself into the middle of a bunch of acivist strangers, or that these strangers would shuffle out so willingly as he shoved them to the exits.
