The 1954 Disney version is one of the best scifi movies of all time-great cast and acting.
I seem to recall seeing another film version-made some time in the 1960’s-really cheaply made, with cheesey special effects. i revcall that Captain Nemo wore some kind of crazy costume with wings.

Don’t recall that, but Nemo appeared in Mysterious Island and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen also.
I think you are referring to Captain Nemo and the Underwater City.
Don’t know about Extraordinary Gentleman, but Nemo does come into play in Mysterious Island. He comes in near the end, but he’s there. I tried watching some Mysterious Island movie and it sucked because they brought him in way to early.
Another possibility is the TV movie The Return of Captain Nemo, released theatrically as The Amazing Captain Nemo. It’s from the 70s, not the 60s, but it’s definitely cheesy.
