Really cool motorcycle helmet

I envision the helmet having microphones inside, close to the ears such that they pick up the noise, and then speakers emit sound waves that cancel it out. I don’t even know if such a thing is possible, but it would be nice- foam ear plugs irritate after a few hours.

Photochromatic shields, no-fog shields, bluetooth speakers for music, cell-phone and walkie-talkie use are all currently available. As for wipers, Rain-X or similar is fine - really, the shield is so close raindrops don’t much bother me outside a downpour and for those I pull over… If you’d like to jump ahead a bit, check out Skully helmets.

OH COOL that Skully helmet has a rear view camera! From their site:

Thanks epbrown! I’ve applied to become a beta tester!

You know, now we’re getting into “more expensive than the bike” territory!

Bottle opener, panini maker, web browser… what’s next?

My helmet does, too, and it works great. If you ride in to / out of a dark tunnel on a bright sunny day, you can immediately compensate for the lighting changes. I don’t see photochromatic visors responding anywhere nearly as quickly.

As I understand it, photochromic sunglasses are activated by UV light… which is blocked by the visor. My wife’s photochromic glasses don’t darken when she’s wearing her helmet.

There are now lenses that work by visible light.

Pretty much the goal is to remove the instrument cluster, or the need for it. Put on your helmet and everything is on your HUD. It might be the thing that gets everyone wearing one, finally.

Me, I’m just waiting for electric bikes to come down, and I want a removable battery like one of the Zero models; lift the seat, pull the cells, charge them anywhere. No looking for a station, no running a plug to the garage - find an outlet and you’re fine.

And this lamp. All I need is a helmet with HUD, electric bike with removable power pack, and this lamp. And this bowl…

joey p your bikeworld link did not work for me. Is this what your retractable tinted shield looks like? http://www.womenridersnow.com/pages/PRODUCT_REVIEW_Schuberth_C3W_Helmet_Just_for_Women.aspx

From that site:
“Schuberth C3W with the retractable sun visor down. The sun visor eliminates the need to wear sunglasses under the helmet; it also eliminates the need to swap out the clear faceshield for a tinted one.”

If so I think that is cool and will make my list.

Seeing that Shuberth also brings another question to mind. Should my dream helmet be a full face or that modular/flip up design?

Thank you for *The Jerk *reference. Always a pleasure :stuck_out_tongue:

Did you ever see the movie, “Counselor” (2013)

Towards the end, Brad Pitt gets involved with some kind of device that goes around his neck.

If you want a perfect helmet, it would incorporate one of these devices so that you could give it to your ex-spouse or someone else you hated and they you could remotely activate the device and if you watch that scene in the movie, the rest will speak for itself.

It could be a beautiful thing! Oh, yes!!

I don’t know about features, but it should look like this.

Not so fast, ya thievin’ varmint. You don’t want to be pulling that crap here in Chamblee, GA…

It’s a small town very near Atlanta. My BFF of about 30 years is a Lt. there. He pulled this knucklehead officer aside later and told him he didn’t want to hear of anything like this again. They have enough problems already - they don’t need in invent any.:smack:

My helmet is a Schubert C2 and has the flip down sun visor. Again, it is great. I love it.

My C2 is the first modular/flip helmet I’ve owned, and I really like it. I wear eyeglasses, and can put on / take off my helmet without removing them.

That is a riot. Surely the local prosecutor isn’t going to put something like that before a judge. At least the department had the officer’s back in front of the media.

But that shows the advantage of the removable cell - you can take it somewhere with a more reasonable expectation that you can use an outlet since Starbucks, McDonalds, and so on let people charge laptops, phones, and the like. Indoors, the officer would have consulted the owner of the outlet first, rather than assuming theft.

Nope. Call me old fashioned, but I still want the Darth Vader helmet.

Anyway, there are two ways to get a properly fitting helmet.

(1) The old fasioned way: use expanding foam to fill the shell around your actual head.

(2) The modern way: use a laser scanner to scan your head, then a milling machine to cut the foam to shape.

My understanding is that the USAF used to use method 1, but now uses method 2. Any confirmation?

I don’t care about features, but it should have lurid green fins on the top & rear a la Godzilla. Use Google image search for [Motorcycle helmet fins] for many good examples of this and other most excellent style ideas.

I have a helmet with a speaker system. I connects to my phone via Bluetooth.

So you want to put fins on the Icon Airmada Sensory
