I don’t know. I’m supposed to be this really terrible person according to everyone here, but it just doesn’t feel appropriate. I’ve never had anyone tell me I’m a bad person in real life. Maybe my online persona is a little rough around the edges but I think the bubble here creates this peculiar environment where I’m just supposed to agree and grovel because someone found a mediocre Gilligan’s Island joke super offensive. Sorry, but the joke just isn’t worth all this. This hypersensitivity is why liberals get a bad name. You’re not bad people, just a bit oversensitive about things.
The perspective here is that sisters and daughters are being killed to protect their father’s honor, women are forced to cover themselves so as to retain their moral sanctitude, and little girls are having their clitorises cut off to promote their viability as eventual partners in arranged marriages.
Call me crazy, but spending 5 pages on this stupid joke and labelling me the bad guy is a farce and any claim otherwise is simply a reflection of the loss of perspective that plagues Western liberals and this board.

I don’t think you’re a terrible person, I just think you are a deeply flawed person who isn’t willing to acknowledge any element of it. I think the freedom and anonymity of the internet simply allow your natural personality to be amplified, or exaggerated. Especially when that natural personality is one that is so bitter. I don’t think I’d like you if we met IRL but that’s not because I think you’re a “bad” or “evil” person. It’s because your personality is just abrasive, bitter and insulting. I feel bad for you, I don’t have any animosity for you. And btw, who is going to tell you you’re a bad person IRL? Besides all the Stringbeans of the world? People really don’t like conflict or confrontation IRL, so they’d voice their opinions behind your back.
I would largely suspect that, due to the consequences, the majority of online assholes don’t act that way in real life. You act differently here than in real life, so the responses will be different.
You can’t use what people say about you in real life to judge how good or bad of a person you are on this message board. And people who judge you on this board are only judging you by what you do here.
Every asshole on this board may be a great person in real life. And I’m sure some nice guys on here are far more prickly in real life, but they have more time to compose themselves here. It’s different.

Abuse of women elsewhere doesn’t excuse being an asshole. And it’s not a big deal. A bunch of people are calling you an asshole or similar. There’s no outrage. Just a bunch of people reading what you have to say, and thinking to themselves “what an asshole”, and maybe saying so.
Maybe a bunch of people telling you that you’re being an asshole should tell you something. No big deal… just maybe that you’re being an asshole. Maybe you’re fine with that, or maybe you really would prefer not to be an asshole.
No, that’s not the proper perspective. The fact that there may be far worse people than you in the world should not comfort you that your own behavior is not deserving of criticism.

Unfortunately, your “concern” for women is simply you expressing your anti-Muslim prejudice in a naive attempt to deflect. But let’s pretend you actually did care about women as equals and not as poor defenseless creatures in need of your protection. Consider, how do societies keep women in a place where such things are tolerated? By constant reinforcement that they are of a lesser status. These reminders of their status don’t have to be overt; a subtle approach is more effective. For example, incorporate their lower status into jokes, then convince them that they are too sensitive if they don’t laugh along with you.

No. In places where women suffer the most it is through overt oppression. I.E. the examples I listed. A subtle joke in an online forum is not how you end up on the bottom of the Human Rights Index.
Loss of perspective is the key phrase here.
