Although most people now favour songs over albums, there are maybe half-a-dozen or a dozen movies with exceptionally good soundtracks. These were very popular twenty years ago. Previous threads list people’s favourites but most are pretty dated, peaking around 2002.
What is the most recent movie which you thought had an exceptional soundtrack? What soundtrack has recently had significant popular success?
Actually the recent Disney movie Cruella has an incredibly good sound track.
Obviously both Guardians of the Galaxy movies did also.
Not very familiar with the Guardianses soundtracks. The ones I like: Trainspotting, Koyaanisqatsi, The Commitments, Pulp Fiction, Blues Brothers etc. are somewhat dated movies.

The Star Trek reboots – really almost anything by Michael Giacchino; good to see someone giving Danny Elfman a run for his money.
I’m maybe less interested in soundtracks that are compilations of existing songs, and more interested in brand new scoring. Two that I think are great are Jonny Greenwood’s score for Phantom Thread, his fourth for Paul Thomas Anderson. I also really like Nick Cave & Warren Ellis’s soundtrack for Hell or High Water.
