I was in Barnes and Noble the other day, and I noticed that their Humor section was entirely devoid of Straight Dope. Having seen it there in the past, I decided this must simply be another example of massive consumer demand outpacing supply (why else would the Fed be raising rates?) and offered my humble assistance to the store manager to help correct the oversight.

It was then that he informed me that, in fact, The Straight Dope was currently housed in the Reference section.

My fellow Dopes, we have arrived. :slight_smile:

Next stop…the Religion section…
(King James, Pentatuch, Triumph of the Straight Dope, Koran, …)

I must say, I have seen SD in both sections in various book stores.

How about the “lifestyles” section? After all, this is a way of life,… isn’t it?

In the “Worlds’ Biggest Bookstore” in Toronto (yes, that’s what it’s called), the Straight Dope books are in the reference section… next to the books on how to write. :slight_smile:

Well, I’m going to spend my days off searching my local bookstores and see how they classify them!
