Recommend a Bible on CD for me

I’d like to get an audiobook of the Bible on CD to listen to on the way to work. Most of what I’ve seen that is available is KJV. I’d prefer just about any other translation.

Recommendations?

Thanks.

I found the above when googling. The New Revised Standard Version is meant to be as literal as possible a translation, in comtemporary language. I prefer it to other translations.

Not entirely sure how good/accurate the “World English Bible” is, but you can download it for free (in .mp3 format) here. There are also two free versions of the KJV there as well.

I have Johnny Cash reading the New KJV version of The New Testament on CD- I don’t actually listen to it much, but it’s just so cool that it exists. I think it came out about a month after his death.

kangaroo_in_black and I gave his father James Earl Jones reads the New Testament for Christmas. I can’t honestly tell you how good or bad it is and the reviews on Amazon are either very good or very bad. It is the King James Version and is only the New Testament, so it may not be what you’re looking for. However, it’s also 30+ hours of the Bible on 16 CDs so it’s a lot of car rides. And it’s James Earl Jones.

Is this the evidence that we all have been waiting for? Johnny reading the KJV from heaven? There is life after death? The KJV is the true bible?

I am astounded
