My long time partner has to buy a new printer, and I’m lookin’ to y’all for recommendations.
She’s been using an Epson Stylus 1500, which is a large format (C size - 17" x 22" paper) color printer. Her volume has gone up quite a bit and she’s had to have the thing serviced several times. Now she’s selling it and needs a replacement.
She can get by without the C size paper capability, although she’d like to have that. Tabloid (11" x 17") size paper capability will be necessary. What she prints primarily are maps and there’re rarely more than four or five colors used and they don’t blend; so she won’t need super high resolution - 300 to 600 dpi will do. She will need true black. Speed is a consideration.
I use an HP750c+ plotter that uses ink cartridges that have an integral print head, so you never deal with wearing a print head out because you’re alwys putting new ones in. I don’t know if there are printers in her area of need that use a similar system.
Cost is not a big barrier because it’ll be a company purchase.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
