I played Delta Force: Task Force Dagger fairly recently, and enjoyed it. I found the controls easy, and the game challenging, but not above my skill level.
Can anyone recommend some computer games similar to Task Force Dagger?
I’m not sure because I haven’t played Delta Force, but I would recommend Soldier of Fortune: Double Helix.

Operation Flashpoint.
It’s a bit of a step-up from the Delta Force series (last one I played was DF2). The AI is reasonable (ie, doesn’t charge blindly), the accuracy is dynamic, and you have to take into account drop and lead your target when sniping. Also includes tanks, APCs, helicopters and (2)planes!
You should be able to pick up the Game of the Year edition - it includes the 2 expansion packs.
Damn hamster ate my first try. I second OFP. The graphics are a bit dated these days, but the game is awesome. It’s very difficult–when you beat a mission, you feel like you really accomplished something. It also has a “go anywhere, do anything” feel that most video games lack.
And I really like all the drivable vehicles.

Of course, Half-Life 2 is due out fairly soon, and that’s all the first-person action I’ll need for a while, I suspect.
