I hope you don’t mind a recommendation from a forum newbie. I was taking a course on research methodologies, and statistics was such a drag. I disliked the quantitative method, for it always sought to reduce things about the social world to numbers and trends. Sure, it has its uses, but statistics is not all-informing. That said, I have nothing against the discipline. I just think people place way too much importance on it. Nonetheless, here’s a title that helped me understand and appreciate the discipline: Elementary Statistics (12th Edition) by Mario Trila. All the best! Hope this helps!
