Recommend a manly product for...uh...chafing

How about this Anti- Chafe Shield ?

They’ve got some pretty nifty functional underwear on that site, worth a look.
As a woman, I’ve found the answer to chafing thighs is to wear pettipants, underskirts sewn into “undertrousers”.

I am bumping this thread just to add another reccomendation for Body Glide. This stuff is awesome! I have started “walking programs” several times only to eventually give up due to uncomfortable compression shorts that due to my gut I have to pull up real high to protect my inner thighs from chafing. Body Glide just stops chafing in its tracks. I’m up to 25 miles a week (will probably do 35 miles this week) and chafing has never been a problem.

We can’t get it here. :frowning:

Mom sends it

I’m late to this party, but bycycle riders swear by Bag Balm This stuff has so much lanolin in it, I think if you mixed it with the correct amount of water you would wind up with a sheep.
I will swear to you that it works, and damn well.

Make sure to use the body powder.

Picturing Sgt trying to explain to his men why he’s rubbing vaseline on his bum. :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Tapioca Dextrin, that powder is one sure fire solid gold stocking stuffer for a certain fourteen year old male I know. Thanks for the link!

Nah, I think it’s trumped, by word count and sheer ribaldry potential, by Mama Tiger’s “Boudreaux’s Butt Paste”.

Now that’s something I can’t imagine anybody asking even the most sympathetic pharmacist about.

Damn, what a great commerical it’d make, though.

Before I lost a great deal of weight, I found that the lightest possible bike/yoga shorts were a godsend. I don’t know how that would work under trousers, but it might be worth a shot.

On the powder/cream front, I would vote for Gold Bond powder.

VCNJ~

Second vote for Bag Balm. I use it for long runs and bike rides (different areas, of course), blisters, cracked lips in the winter, my wife uses it for dry skin and cracked heels, and it’s like $5.00 a pound. It doesn’t just prevent chafing - it accelerates healing. The stuff just rocks.

(although I disagree with Rick about mixing it with water to get a sheep. I think you’d need to throw in a wool sock to get the right texture)
