I need exercise. I have a bike. I can walk. But, it’s in the high 80’s to 90+ and high humidity here in northeast Florida, and I’m having a hard time dealing with the heat. I need a treadmill. I don’t have a lot of space for one, so I’ve been looking for a small one that I can fold up and stow out of the way. I’ve searched online, but there are too many; I don’t want to buy a piece of junk. As for price, I’d like to stay in the $500 - $800 range, but can go higher if it’s a really high quality item. Your recommendations, please.
I don’t own a folding treadmill, but having bought exercise equipment in the past, I would recommend that you go to an actual store. Tell the salespeople all the things you just typed up there. Then INSIST on trying out each recommended machine. Find one that’s in the right price frame and that you really feel comfortable with - because if there are any issues of usability or comfort, it will end up wasting space under your bed.
Don’t worry about brand names, bells, whistles, etc. Find a machine that YOU like, that YOU think is constructed well, and that YOU think you will use. Then buy it.
In this area (as in many others) I think that buying over the internet would be a mistake.
ETA: With that much money, you could probably get a bitching second-hand machine if you wanted to hunt around. Check craigslist, for example.
