A bit of research on Reverb.com, Gbase, and eBay may serve you well. I think they have value, but not sure how condition figures in. It normally doesn’t take much to get a simple tube amp working.
Pork Rind - you mentioned the key part: fiddling with the knob on your guitar. My standard Tele rock rhythm setting is a crunchy tone (I use a dirtbox through my Tweed Deluxe replica), bridge pickup with my volume on 7 and Tone on maybe 6. Use the middle position for Stonesier stuff.
One more to possibly consider is Genz-Benz. I have a Black Pearl 30 running though a GB 2x12 cab. Great cleans, and throwing it into triode mode with a Boss distortion pedal gives me down and dirty. More volume than I know what to with. Please give the Mack some serious consideration, they are handmade and sound phenomenal, especially when you consider what a handmade boutique amp typically runs. Mack youtube clip.
Hadn’t heard of Mack, but the video looks interesting. Good features. Uses 6V6’s so will overdrive sooner than a 6L6 or EL84 based power stage, but to me that is a good thing!
Note: the guy on the left is playing a Dagmar, a cool handmade guitar with rounded edges all the way around.
