Recommend Massage Place in DC/NoVa

I want to give my wife a gift certificate for a massage as a Christmas present. Can anyone recommend a nice, classy, pleasant, not-too-expensive place in the Washington, D.C./Arlington, Va. area?

My wife enjoyed a massage she had at that place in the 555 12 St. building, the name of which I don’t remember. There was also a nice place (but maybe a little small) in Foggy Bottom several years ago, I think on 24th St., across from the building where James Carville and Mary Matalin had that restaurant that failed. Not working in that neighborhood anymore, i don’t know if it’s still around. I also don’t know the name there, either. :o

Thanks. I’ll see if I can figure out the names.

If it’s for your wife I’m assuming you aren’t looking for an asian massage parlor where you can negotiate a “happy ending.” That’s unfortunate, since there are a lot of those in my neighborhood.

My wife got a good massage at Andre Chreky on 16th and K. It offers a full body massage for $75 or a half-hour massage for $45.

Thanks, Renob. They’ve got an impressive Web site, too. I think this one will do, given your wife’s recommendation.

If Chreky doesn’t work out for any reason, [url=http://www.celadonspa.com/]Celadon* is the one at 555 12th St. That’s the building with the Barnes & Noble and the ESPN Zone. Also, I used to work there.

Cool, thanks.

My husband and I use MassageWorks in Falls Church (off Route 7 near Washingon Street): http://www.massageworksinc.com/ We’ve never tried anything other than “standard” massage (i.e. no spa services, no “reiki” or hot stone massage or whatever) but have always been very pleased with the regular massages.

I’ve already ordered a gift certificate from Andre Chreky, but this is good to know too, for the future.
